Impressive 2018 Chevy Models for the New Year

Chevy has been making safe, quality, and innovative vehicles for over 100 years, and the new 2018 Chevy models are continuing that trend. With new styles, the latest technology, and impressive safety features, 2018 promises a lineup of Chevy vehicles that will definitely enhance any lifestyle, yours included. Here are some of the most noteworthy 2018 Chevrolet vehicles you should check out in the New Year.

Impressive 2018 Chevy Models for the New Year

2018 Chevrolet Cruze

The compact 2018 Chevy Cruze continues to offer outstanding safety features and a sporty look. The sedan offers four trims, including a base L, LS, LT and Premier; but if you opt for the roomy hatchback Cruze, you can choose between the LT and Premier styles.

Chevy Cruzes come with a turbocharged 4-cylinder 1.4L engine that makes 153 horsepower, but 2018 brings a new option as well: a 1.6-L turbo diesel engine on either the hatchback or sedan. While the standard engine delivers an impressive 38 mpg, the diesel touts fuel efficiency as high as 52 mpg. Wowza.

2018 Chevy Malibu

The midsize 2018 Chevy Malibu provides a spacious cabin with over 38 inches of legroom in the back seat, easily accommodating five adults. The back seats fold down, too, so the spacious 15.8-cubic-foot trunk can expand to carry extra-large items. The new Malibu from Chevy comes with a modern, stylish look and useful safety technology, which helps it score an impressive 9.7 out of 10 with U.S. News.

The newest Malibu model offers a fresh Redline Edition available with the LT trim package. Redline features include black grilles and bowties and signature black wheels with modern red accents. You can select from five different trims, including the L, LS, 1LT, Premier, or Hybrid.

2018 Chevy Volt

The electric-hybrid 2018 Chevrolet Volt can be driven for around 53 miles on a full battery charge. At that point, it will switch over and get its power from a combination of gas and electricity. The Volt has twin electric motors as well as a 1.5-L gas engine/generator combo, and an 18.4-kW battery that makes 149 horsepower.

You can select the LT trim package or choose the more technologically equipped Premier Volt. New for 2018 is the Driver Confidence package, which increases your safety and comfort by adding rear cross-traffic alerts, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-parking sensors.

2018 Chevrolet Bolt EV

While the Volt can run on gas or electricity, the 2018 Chevy Bolt EV runs solely on electricity. It can travel over 200 miles on a single charge, and the 200-horsepower engine enables it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. Two large display screens let you know how much charge you have left and how much farther you can go.

The Bolt doesn’t need a transmission, so the battery is located below the floor, leaving plenty of space in the interior where it matters most. It seats five adults easily and boasts 17 cubic feet of trunk space. And built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi lets you connect up to 7 devices so you can stream music and use various apps without spiking your data rates.

2018 Chevy Equinox

The 2018 Chevy Equinox offers plenty of crossover style, power, convenience, and safety measures. It makes 170 horsepower with its turbocharged 1.5-L 4-cylinder engine and has plenty of roomy space in both the cabin and the trunk areas. It has a hands-free liftgate that you can open simply by moving your foot, so you don’t have to set down your plastic bags just to load up the groceries.

Most impressive is the fact that the Equinox returns 32 mpg on the highway; if you opt for the 1.6-L diesel engine, you’ll get up to 39 mpg.

2018 Chevy Tahoe

The 2018 Chevy Tahoe is a full-sized SUV with three rows of seats that can easily accommodate eight adults. The 2018 model brings a new trim called the Rally Sport Truck (RST). Most models come with a 5.3-L V-8 engine, but the RST version boasts a 6.2L V-8 engine that makes an amazing 420 horsepower.

The modern infotainment system inside the Tahoe makes driving a joy. An 8-inch touchscreen mates to Chevy’s MyLink interface, which integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto flawlessly.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500/HD

The full-size 2018 Chevy Silverado pickup truck offers plenty of power in combination with modern technology and convenience. You can choose from three different cab layouts, three bed sizes, and three engine choices, as well as six custom trims. The 6.2-liter V-8 engine—the same engine sits inside the Tahoe—gives you 420 horsepower and lets you tow 12,500 pounds. The technology inside the Silverado has been updated for 2018, and now every model comes with a rear-view camera and advanced TPMS.

2018 Chevy Colorado

The midsize 2018 Chevy Colorado pickup truck is versatile and rugged beyond belief. There are three engine options to choose from: a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine produces 200 horsepower; the 3.6L V-6 packs a punch with its production of 308 horsepower; and the 2.8L diesel engine makes 186 horsepower efficiently. And best of all, it can tow up to 7,700 pounds with ease.

Chevy has also added a convenient “Active Tow System” to the Colorado (and other Chevrolet models), which helps you line up a trailer to the truck hitch. It has a large color touchscreen display that lets you connect your phone wirelessly, too; the touchscreen makes it easy to listen to music, make hands-free calls, and use your favorite apps.
